ALEKS Math Placement Support

We provide ALEKS Math Placement support for students preparing to register for or currently enrolled in Montgomery College math courses.
Please note that Montgomery College will be closed on June 19 for Juneteenth. ALEKS Math Placement support will be unavailable from June 20 through June 30, 2026. Support will resume on July 1, 2026.
During this time, ALEKS Math Placement support-related phone calls, visits, Zoom appointments, form requests, and email requests will not be processed.

- Submit your ALEKS Math Placement support request through the ALEKS Math Placement Support Form new window. Requests submitted during this period will be processed in the order received after July 1, 2026.
Our Services Include:
- ALEKS Math Placement Support: Gain a clear understanding of the ALEKS Math Placement process. Receive assistance with account resets or extensions, uploading ALEKS scores, and guidance on the next steps.
- Campus Outreach: Participate in campus events such as MC Day (formerly Advising Day), Guided Placement Help Days, MC Open House, and more.
- Referrals to College Resources: Get connected to a wide range of campus services that support your college math success.

Email from your MC Email to mathplacement@montgomerycollege.edu
- Provide your MC M#, your last name, and your first name
- Specify if you need to reset your ALEKS Math Account to create a new account, which you can access for one year
- Or you need a three-month extension to complete the ALEKS Math Placement Process (your account must have expired very recently)

If you did not pass MATH 050, you cannot use ALEKS Math scores to test out of it.

If you have taken MC math foundation courses like MATH 117 or MATH 120 and later completed ALEKS Test 2 or Test 3, email MathAdvising@montgomerycollege.edu from your MC student email. Include:
- Your MC M#
- Your first and last name
- Your ALEKS math score report
- ALEKS Test 2 or Test 3 score of 14 to 29 places students in MATH 117 with MATH 017, or MATH 120 with MATH 020
- ALEKS Test 2 or Test 3 score of 30 or higher places students in MATH 117 or MATH 120
- SAT Math 530 or higher places students in MATH 117 or MATH 120
- ACT Math 21 or higher places students in MATH 117 or MATH 120
- A grade of C or better in MATH 050 places students in MATH 117 or MATH 120
- ALEKS Test 2 or Test 3 score of 14 or higher places students in MATH 130 with MATH 030
- ALEKS Test 2 or Test 3 score of 46 or higher places students in MATH 130
- SAT Math 570 or higher places students in MATH 130
- ACT Math 24 or higher places students in MATH 130
- A grade of C or better in MATH 050 places students in MATH 130
- A grade of C or better in MATH 050 places students into MATH 150
- ALEKS Test 2 or Test 3 score of 61 or higher places students into MATH 150
- SAT Math score of 620 or higher places students into MATH 150
- ACT Math score of 26 or higher places students into MATH 150
Starting in Fall 2026:
- ALEKS Test 2 or Test 3 score of 46 to 60 places students into MATH 150 with MATH 055 Support
- ALEKS Test 2 or Test 3 score of 61 or higher places students into MATH 165
- SAT Math score of 620 or higher places students into MATH 165
- ACT Math score of 26 or higher places students into MATH 165
For Summer 2026 only:
- ALEKS Test 2 or Test 3 score of 46 to 60 places students into MATH 098 with MATH 165
Starting in Fall 2026:
- ALEKS Test 2 or Test 3 score of 46 to 60 places students into MATH 165 with MATH 065 Support
- ALEKS Math Test 2 or Test 3 score of 76 or higher
- SAT Math 650 or higher
- ACT Math 29 or higher
- A grade of C or better in MATH 165
- CLEP Precalculus Score 50 or higher
- A score of 4 or 5 on the AP Precalculus Exam
- A score of 3 on the AP Calculus AB Exam
- A score of 3 on the AP Calculus BC Exam
- A grade of C or better in MATH 181
- CLEP Calculus Score 50 or higher
- A score of 4 or 5 on the AP Calculus AB Exam
