Montgomery College Leader Selected for Prestigious Fulbright International Education Award

Montgomery College Interim Associate Dean of Student Affairs Vincent L. Briley has been selected for the 2026–2027 U.S.-France International Education Administrators (IEA) Award, a prestigious fellowship within the Fulbright Scholar Program that recognizes higher education leaders committed to advancing international education and global engagement.

Briley is among a select group of higher education administrators nationwide chosen to participate in the Fulbright France program, which provides professional development opportunities while fostering long-term international partnerships that strengthen colleges, universities and the communities they serve.

Administered through the Fulbright Scholar Program, the award provides higher education leaders the opportunity to explore France's higher education system, exchange best practices with international colleagues and develop collaborative partnerships. According to the Institute of International Education, Fulbright experiences help institutions expand global engagement while creating lasting opportunities for students, faculty and staff.

"I am excited for this opportunity to learn from the experience of French higher education institutions and leaders, and to promote the promise of a community college education that Montgomery College has provided to the world over the past 80 years," Briley said.

A Fulbright Germany alumnus with more than 15 years of experience in community college student and academic affairs, Briley is a strong advocate for international education and global engagement. His work includes developing the Fulbright in the Curriculum series and toolkit, which helps integrate global perspectives into community college education. The College looks forward to leveraging his international engagement to strengthen Montgomery College's global partnerships and expand opportunities for students, faculty and staff.

The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government's flagship international academic exchange program. Since 1946, it has fostered mutual understanding through educational and cultural exchange. Fulbright alumni include Nobel Prize recipients, Pulitzer Prize winners, MacArthur Fellows and leaders in higher education, government, science and the arts.
