The Annual Maryland Male Summit | Montgomery College, Maryland

The Annual Maryland Male Summit is a transformative event dedicated to supporting the academic success and personal development of male students across Maryland’s community colleges. Rooted in the mission to educate, equip, and empower (E3), the summit provides a dynamic platform for students to build community, strengthen their skills, and navigate the unique challenges along their educational and career journeys.

This year’s theme, “Trust the Process: Every Move Counts,” emphasizes the importance of perseverance, intentionality, and resilience. Through engaging workshops, inspiring keynote addresses, and interactive sessions, participants will explore essential pillars of success—such as mental wellness, academic excellence, and financial literacy—all aimed at helping them make deliberate, meaningful progress toward their goals.

The summit also encourages students to challenge limiting narratives and reclaim their space in both academic and professional settings. With sessions like “More Than a Statistic: Thriving in Systems Built without Us in Mind”, "Seats at the Table: Owning Space in Academic & Professional Settings”, attendees will be invited to use storytelling, critical thinking, decision-making and other cognitive and communicative skills that fall into the broader category of 21st Century competencies.

By centering lived experiences and promoting strategies for holistic growth, the Annual Maryland Male Student Summit empowers students to trust their journey, embrace each move as a step toward purpose, and reimagine what success looks like—on campus and beyond. This event is open to all individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, or other protected characteristics.

Summit Learning Outcomes/Objectives

Participants will be able to identify and apply evidence-based strategies that promote awareness and resilience as it pertains to their as physical and mental wellness enhancement and evolution.
Participants will gain confidence in their ability to navigate academic and professional environments by identifying barriers to success, evaluating available resources, and identifying strategies to effectively advocate for themselves and others.
Participants will investigate and evaluate the role of intentional decision-making in the area of financial literacy and its impact on achieving long-term their educational and career aspirations.
